Hastkrit is an independent studio creatively led by Lavanya Venkatesh. Lavanya lives in Chennai with her husband and daughter. She began her artistic journey in 2015 by creating zentangle patterns and designs. In June of 2016 she created Hastkrit to express her thoughts and her values. In Sanskrit, the word 'Hastkrit translates to 'Hand Creation'. The brand is her way of expressing gratitude to art which has helped her through tough times and has taught her a lot about herself. As a self-taught artist, her hand-painted products are a reflection of her creativity and perception of the world.
